Review - Deadly Class, Vol. 1: Reagan Youth by Remender, Craig, & Loughridge

This was one crazy graphic novel. Deadly Class follows our main character who finds himself attending a school for deadly assassins and gets involved with a group of kids who are super messed up and crazy. He is also quite messed up himself and we get glimpses of his past throughout the story to kind of understand why he is the way he is.

The story itself is fun and violent and bloody and the characters are really great and well done, in my opinion. The art is interesting and for me, the colors are incredible but the style of the faces is at times not my thing. It's a fairly quick read with some issues having more text than others, and every now and then, getting a full page spread of pure art which I really love. I think it's definitely a story that suits itself to graphic novel form in that, I wouldn't necessarily enjoy this quite as much if I didn't have the visuals to go with it.

Overall, I really enjoyed it and am looking forward to getting to the next volume very soon.
