Review: A Feast for Crows (A Song of Ice & Fire #4) by George R.R. Martin

So wow. I can definitely see why A Feast for Crows is a lot of people's least favorite in the series and why some even call it boring. For me, I wouldn't say it was my least favorite (the first one was) but it was definitely not as exciting as the second and third in the series. I did enjoy the different perspectives we hadn't got to see yet and learning more about certain families in the the Seven Kingdoms.

I, like most others, missed some of my favorite characters, but I would have to say that Brienne might be my favorite (or a very, very close second next to Tyrion). Before this book, I had really enjoyed Cersei even though I also hated her and she was this strong female that I might disagree with, but really respected. After this book, however, and reading her POVs, I really really really really dislike her character. She had not only fooled me as being strong, but she was also fooling herself, in my opinion because she came across as incredibly paranoid and weak and made every wrong decision she could. I understand her reasoning in protecting her children and that being her number one most important thing, but she also made decisions based on her own obsession to rule and be number one in power. I lost my respect for her in this book and will be interested to see how things unfold based on what happened at the very end.

Other than my Cersei rant, I can honestly say I enjoyed this book much more than I thought I would based on what everyone was telling me. It holds so much important information for the general story that I can appreciate the more political side of things here and not miss too much the action and crazy plot twists that I'm used to from the other books.
